It was clear when photographing this scene on Le Jaonnet Bay on Guernsey’s south coast, that it should be edited as a black and white image. A long exposure allowed the foamy white water of a receding wave to form ribbons that lead into the picture. Sometimes colour gives little to the photograph and in this case, the image was stronger having had its colour removed, creating a slightly ethereal feel.
